Aside from intensity, other factors that may affect the amount of elliptical calories burned are duration of workout, age, weight, interval workout, tension on the settings and exercise status.  A person who is starting to use elliptical trainer for exercise will have more elliptical calories burned because the body is not yet used to it. There’s pressure in the muscles so more calories are burned. Once the body gets used to it, there will be lesser to no calories burned that’s why it’s important to change the intensity of your exercise to continue burning calories. Increase or decrease the tension or inclination of the elliptical trainer every two minutes as this help burn more calories. What’s even better is that doing this interval will keep body burning calories for up to 24 hours. There are elliptical trainers that have handles that you can move forward and backward. If your trainer has this, use the handle to move your arms back and forth as this can add up to calories burned. This is also true with your footwork. Move your feet forward and backward on the trainer. Twist your body on both sides as you move forward and backward because the more muscles you work out the more calories you burn.

 

Exercising will boost your metabolism for a certain period. Try getting 15 to 20 minutes workout in the morning and afternoon to boost metabolism for a longer period and get more elliptical calories burned.
